Why Builders Choose Safe QLD

Six reasons Safe QLD should be your next fire system installer

Every new build, major works package or tenancy fitout moves through the same six disciplines. Most contractors outsource half of them. We keep every one in-house, which is how we anticipate problems on the drawing board instead of discovering them on site.

  • Design & engineering with advanced design software and industry best practice
  • Precision CAD drafting, architecturals and job planning
  • Dedicated project management and QA with transparent reporting
  • Specialist installation and programming by QBCC licensed technicians
  • Methodical commissioning with comprehensive documentation
  • Ongoing AS 1851-2012 service and maintenance after handover
Our Construction Process

The six-stage Safe QLD project lifecycle

A structured approach that keeps accountability and detail front and centre at every stage of your fire protection project.

Design & Engineering

Bespoke fire protection designs tailored to the unique requirements of each site. Our experienced engineers use advanced design software and industry best practice to create innovative, compliant systems to AS 1670.1, AS 2118, AS 2419 and the NCC/BCA that meet regulatory standards and exceed them in functionality and reliability.

Drafting & Planning

Precision and foresight, delivered through cutting-edge CAD technology. We produce comprehensive system layouts, architecturals and job plans that make execution clear, minimise disruption on site and keep every phase on schedule and within budget.

Project Management & QA

Dedicated project managers and senior technicians provide oversight and coordination through the whole project lifecycle, with regular updates and transparent reporting. Potential issues are identified and addressed proactively, protecting deadlines, budget, quality and safety.

Specialist Installation & Programming

Installation teams among Queensland's finest, each technician extensively trained and certified across sprinkler systems, detection and alarm systems and panel programming. Every component is installed to the highest standard, enhancing system performance from day one.

Methodical Commissioning

Extensive testing of fire alarm, emergency warning and intercom systems validates performance against stringent operational standards. Meticulous documentation, including QBCC Form 71/72 aspect certification, gives your certifier a complete, audit-ready record of system functionality and compliance.

Service & Maintenance

Proactive, customer-centric maintenance programs tailored to your fire assets and compliant with AS 1851-2012. Regular inspections, testing and servicing keep the system you commissioned reliable and audit-ready. Defects, liability and ongoing maintenance, Safe QLD has it covered.

Form 71/72 certification, handled. Queensland building certifiers rely on QBCC Form 71 and Form 72 aspect certificates before they can sign off fire protection work. As a QBCC licensed contractor (Licence No. 1143420), Safe QLD issues the relevant certificates for the systems we install and commission, so your practical completion date never hinges on chasing paperwork from a third party.

Construction & Fitout FAQs

Common questions about fire system projects

Can Safe QLD handle a fire protection project from design through to certification?
Yes. Safe QLD runs a complete in-house team of industry experts and technicians, so we design, install, certify and maintain your fire protection assets under one roof. Our engineers design to AS 1670.1, AS 2118, AS 2419 and the NCC/BCA, our QBCC licensed installers deliver the works, and our commissioning process provides the documentation and certification your builder or certifier needs, including QBCC Form 71 and Form 72 aspect certificates.
What standard governs the design and installation of fire alarm systems in commercial buildings?
Fire alarm system design and installation must comply with AS 1670.1:2018, which covers the layout, detector spacing, cabling, power supply, panel configuration and required documentation. We work with engineers and builders to ensure the systems we design and install meet both AS 1670.1 and the NCC/BCA fire protection performance criteria.
What is a QBCC Form 71/72 and when do I need one?
Form 71 and Form 72 are the QBCC aspect certificates used in Queensland to certify fire protection work. Form 71 certifies an aspect of the installation during the works and Form 72 certifies the completed system. Building certifiers rely on them before sign-off, so new installations, fitouts and major alterations generally cannot reach practical completion without them. As a QBCC licensed contractor, Safe QLD provides the relevant certificates for the systems we install and commission.
What happens after the fire system is installed and commissioned?
Commissioning is the start of the compliance lifecycle, not the end. From day one your new system falls under the routine servicing regime of AS 1851-2012, with monthly, six-monthly, annual and five-yearly activities depending on the system. Safe QLD carries every project into a tailored maintenance program, covering defects, liability and ongoing servicing so the system that was certified stays compliant.
