How Safe QLD Fire Protection collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information. Written in plain English, because compliance should be simple, whether it is fire safety or privacy.
Safe QLD Fire Protection Pty Ltd (ABN 51 130 129 270) of 63 Steel Street, Capalaba QLD 4157 is committed to handling your personal information responsibly and in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.
This policy was last reviewed in 2026. Questions? Email Service@SafeQLD.com.au or call (07) 3286 6310.
When you submit our quote form, email us or call, we collect your name, phone number, email address, company or building name, the site address, and the details of your enquiry. We use this to respond to you, prepare your quote and schedule the work.
When we service your building we keep records of the site, the fire protection assets we test, defects found, and the contact people we deal with on site. These records are what make your AS 1851-2012 logbooks, digital reports and QBCC Form 71/72 documentation possible.
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use this in aggregate to keep the site fast, secure and useful. We do not use it to identify you personally.
We do not collect sensitive information (such as health or financial details) through this website, and we ask that you do not include it in enquiry forms. Payment of invoices is handled through standard business invoicing, not through this website.
We use the personal information you provide to:
We will not add you to marketing lists you did not ask to join, and any service reminder or update we send will always include a simple way to opt out.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone, ever. We only disclose it where it is needed to deliver our services or where the law requires it.
Our job management, scheduling and accounting software providers, who process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security obligations.
Where you ask us to, we share compliance reports with your body corporate, building manager, property agent or certifier.
QFES, QBCC or other authorities where disclosure is required by law, for example in relation to occupier statements or building fire safety compliance.
No data brokers, no advertisers, no third-party marketing. If it is not needed to do the job or meet the law, it does not leave our systems.
Personal information is stored in secured business systems with access limited to Safe QLD staff who need it to do their work. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
We keep service and compliance records for as long as required to meet our obligations under Australian Standards, Queensland building fire safety legislation, taxation law and our QBCC licensing requirements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it. Some of our software providers may store data on servers located outside Australia; where that occurs, we choose reputable providers who apply appropriate data protection safeguards.
You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you. Email Service@SafeQLD.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe, usually within 30 days.
If anything we hold is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete, tell us and we will correct it. Keeping contact and site details current also helps us keep your compliance schedule on track.
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, contact us first and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this policy from time to time as our business or the law changes. The current version will always be published on this page.
